Episode 0; The film starts with a… I would say a nowadays used way of introduction which is nevertheless always nice and interesting. Then he gives us, what I would call a microscopical overview of his trip with some nicely chosen shots of deer Holland, followed by a tiny animation of his former self, planning the whole trip and how he got to start his national escapade. A nice Idea which needs to be followed and I have rarely seen such a professional and yet incredibly personal approach on a matter like that. It's a good start, maybe a bit to short for my taste. But overall a great accomplishment barely knowing and/or understanding what's behind all this. Keep it up.
Episode 1; We get to see Amsterdam under a very different and personal view. This is where everything starts and Mr. traveller introduces us to his local friends and supporters. Like any good story, Luis managed to give us a problem which needs resolving. Even though it might not have been planned, he got it on tape and I think these unwanted moments make his audiovisual opus interesting, unpredictable and great. This little film has also a profound meaning to Mr. Duran as he quotes of past obsessions. I truly believe this halfway hazardous adventure to be his salvation and more a psychological journey then it was meant to be. I loved the beginning and the end, the pace, the editing and throughout the episode, roughcast changing locations, is unexpected and refreshing.
Episode 2; The actual and real beginning of Luis's trip. Starting from Nordpolderzijl, showing us in a very nice and comedic way, his last paid, breakfast and the route with all the stops his is going to take, as well as the typical, nordic, dutch scenery. In the end of this video, Luis, goes into a remarkably dangerous domain of movie making. The recreation an intangible existence within ourselves. Whether it is of comical purpose, of purely dramatic foundation or just experimental nonsense is no of no concern. But my intuition of self salvation or recovery (call it the way you want) is proven by this small theatrical entrance of an Alter Ego maybe? I would love to see more of an internal conflict which is being portrayed quite well so far. We are waiting Luis.
